Description
SS-31 (D-Arg-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH2) alternates aromatic and cationic residues, which lets it cross cell membranes and concentrate in the inner mitochondrial membrane. There it associates with cardiolipin. Research applications include mitochondrial membrane integrity, reactive oxygen species, and bioenergetics.
